SECTION 3 – CHRISTMAS DINNER

On December 15th, Section 3 hosted its annual holiday dinner meeting at Moretti’s in Edison Park. Members were encouraged to bring significant others and children, resulting in a lively turnout of 57 adults and 10 children. Among the adults, 15 were new members and 3 were guests.

Preparations began at 3:30 PM, with the event officially kicking off at 4:30 PM with check-in and a cash bar. Santa Claus was a highlight of the evening, delighting the children with personalized goody bags and posing for photos against a festive Christmas backdrop purchased by the Section. Santa, accompanied by his cheerful elf, made rounds to every table, handing out candy canes and spreading holiday cheer.

The Section 3 meeting commenced promptly at 5:15 PM and lasted for 40 minutes. Key agenda items included the nomination of officers for 2025, a special birthday tribute to Pete Schroeder, and a recap of the Ambassador’s visit. The visit was particularly notable for the presentation of awards in honor of Grand Duke Henri. George Jones and David Hoffmann were bestowed with the highest distinction, the Order of Oak Crown, while Mike Ansay and Ethan Hastert received the prestigious Order of Merit.

Dinner was served buffet-style from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, featuring Moretti’s celebrated cuisine. The food was so popular it proved challenging to keep up with the demand, earning rave reviews from attendees.

The evening’s entertainment included a 50-25/25 raffle, a Christmas-themed guessing game, and a photo booth complete with humorous accessories for fun and silly pictures.

The event concluded at 8:00 PM, with clean-up efficiently completed by the 8:30 PM deadline set by Moretti’s.
